The lost souls of The Office

This little masterpiece, created by our gal pal over at GMMR, was just too good not to share:

My favorite part of the picture has got to be Kevin wearing Hurley’s hair!

So are there that many similarities between “The Office” and “Lost”?

  • Lost has the front section and the tailies; Office has the office and warehouse.
  • Lost has the main cast and “the others”; Office has the Scranton branch and the Stamford branch.
  • They both have (or is that, had?) a love triangle.
  • They both take place in locations that seem inescapable.

Please add to the list!

Kate and Angela at TVGuide.com

Kate Flannery (“Meredith”) has updated her TV Guide blog:

This week’s new episode is “The Initiation,” written by B.J. Novak. Salesman Dwight Schrute teaches Ryan-the-former Temp how to be a salesman for Dunder Mifflin. Aside from the beet farm, I can’t give away anything. But the NBC promos have shown a phone conversation between Pam and Jim! The first time they have spoken all season. I am not allowed to say anything but you cannot miss it! What a talented guy, that B.J. Novak is. Ryan’s desk faced Meredith’s desk last season and he would sit and write a new episode of The Office while the rest of us were doing our fake office work, or online with Myspace fans.

TVG.com also has posted a nice interview with Angela Kinsey:

TVGuide.com: How did she and Dwight get together in the first place?
Kinsey: I remember when we were at the table read for the “Jim’s Party” episode [when their relationship was revealed], Rainn and I just started cracking up. He said to me, “It just makes such perfect sense.” They have this dance they do with each other. They both crave power and authority, they take life and their jobs really seriously, and they’re really militant and like to follow lots of rules.

Scranton meets ‘The Office’

The Pittsburgh Post Gazette has a great article about Scranton’s connection and reaction to ‘The Office.’

An excerpt:

Paper Magic Group, which makes greeting cards, Valentines and other seasonal products, is often confused for Dunder Mifflin. The office building is shown briefly in the show’s opening credits, along with a Mulberry Street sign.

And actor John Krasinksi, who plays Jim, visited Paper Magic when he was scouting possible locations and filmed the opening montage of the city from his car. He is the only cast member actually sighted in Scranton.

But the cast plans to come to Scranton to film an episode about the huge St. Patrick’s Day parade. And the mayor wants to fly the cast in through corporate sponsors for “The Office” day, a big lovefest of the show.
