Bittersweet farewell
Warren Buffett to appear on The Office
Warren Buffett, the world’s most famous investor, will appear on The Office Season 7 finale Search Committee airing May 19. He will play a potential candidate for the job of Dunder Mifflin regional manager, a position recently vacated by Michael Scott (Steve Carell).
At the recent April 30 Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting, the audience was entertained by a clip of the Oracle of Omaha introduced as a possible replacement for Michael Scott. Berkshire Hathaway, “I think produces all of Anne Hathaway’s movies,” Scott said.
From ABC News:
Buffett told employees of Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton office that he thought the company could produce a significant turnaround once Carell’s character left. But Carell didn’t seem to catch the insult because he said Buffett’s speech pattern had lulled him to sleep.
When another Dunder employee asked the 80-year-old Buffett for some of his elixir of youth, the billionaire said only Class A Berkshire shareholders get that. Class A shares sell for about $125,000 apiece
From Omaha.com:
Buffett’s daughter, Susan, said a friend, Michael Kives of Creative Artists Agency, came up with the idea during Thanksgiving dinner at her Omaha home, leading to the February taping in California. “It was funny,” she said.
The shareholder movie had one thing the TV show won’t: a confrontation between Berkshire Vice Chairman Charlie Munger and the program’s feisty assistant office manager, Dwight K. Schrute, played by actor Rainn Wilson. Schrute threatens Munger, and Munger reaches up, straightens Schrute’s tie and calmly says he knows several ways to kill.
