The Boston Globe’s Meredith Goldstein tagged along during Mindy Kaling’s tour of Scranton at The Office Convention last month. Mindy provides some funny commentary during the slideshow.

This is fantastic! I’m so proud of the little town in my home state. Mindy said at the cast Q&A that she imagined Kelly shopping at Boscov’s and The Bon-Ton, which are regional department stores. I hope she can work them into a script too. Thanks to Mindy and all who came to Scranton!
Thank you so much for posting this! For those of us who couldn’t make it to the convention, it was a great look at the city.
Hey I’m in one of those pictures! Awesome! I’m the girl in the sunglasses with the purse stuffed full of Office Convention booklets (lol) at 21 seconds. :)
Mindy is too cute! I can’t wait to tour the city myself!!!
I want Mindy to start writing again! :(
‘before he was famous, and knew george clooney.’ haha
cute!
Seeing all these places again made me remember the amazing weekend I spent in Scranton.
This made me miss the show and cry because I couldn’t go to the convention and laugh at Mindy’s genius and smile remembering when I first got obsessed with The Office, and made me swoon @ John Kras for his amazing photo skills. Just a plethora of emotions wrapped into a tiny tour. SWEET!
Check out the Paper Magic building at timecode 2:35. Look familiar? It’s used as the establishing shot for Dunder Mifflin Scranton in the Pilot!
