Mindy Kaling at the UCB Theatre

Tallyhead K files this report on Mindy Kaling’s visit to Jimmy Pardo’s show at the UCB Theatre Thursday night.

I went to see Mindy Kaling at UCBLA tonight. The show ran like a regular live talk show but in a theater. The host was Jimmy Pardo, a classic stand-up veteran, whose quick and sharp humor kept the audience on their toes the whole night. He opened with holiday-oriented stories, bantered with his iPod DJ Pat Francis, and teased an Australian guy in the front row who sat two seats away from me.

When they introduced Mindy, they cued ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ during her entrance. She wore a long pink and black patterned dress, a brown hoodie, and a cute pair of gold flats. She complimented the choice of song which led into a story about her appearance on Conan and how they used ‘Eye of the Tiger’ for her entrance. She had expected something like ‘Pretty Woman,’ though her pick for an entrance song would have been ‘Ghostbusters.’

Lonesome Trio

Ed Helms Lonesome Trio The Office

Tallyhead Ivy files this report from The Lonesome Trio’s performance in New York City last night.

My friend, Katherine, and I wandered into Manhattan to see The Lonesome Trio play at the Parkside Lounge. Since we both really love Ed Helms, we decided to drink some wine at a local Italian wine bar before heading over, to calm our nerves and embolden us to actually talk to Ed Helms (is bold the right word?).

Rainn in Kelso, Washington

The Office

Tallyhead Caitie files this report from Rainn Wilson’s fundraiser show at the Kelso Theatre Pub in Longview, Washington.

Saturday, November 17: It’s a typical rainy Washington evening and I’m huddled inside a tiny cafe attached to the local theatre pub, anxiously awaiting the night’s guest of honor. Surrounded by about fifty fellow Office fanatics, I can feel my pulse begin to race when the moment we’ve all been waiting for arrives: Dwight Schrute himself pulls up in a silver Volvo, flanked by theatre staff and security.

That’s right, I’m proud to announce that I was one of the lucky few to attend Rainn Wilson’s fundraiser event, “An Evening with Rainn Wilson,” in Kelso, WA, benefiting local theatre company, Longview Stageworks. Rainn, a Washington native, has ties to this southern Washington area through his wife, whose parents still reside in the area.

Amy’s Office walk-on role, Part 2

Following is Part 2 of a report from Tallyhead Amy, who not only got to visit The Office set, but had a walk-on part in tonight’s episode, ‘Branch Wars’!

After makeup, I’m taken to meet the person I will spend the morning with. Rashida Jones! As I am quickly becoming aware, my “role” is Dunder Mifflin employee at the Utica branch where Karen is branch manager. I am told that I will exit the office building acting as Karen’s friend on our way to get frozen yogurt and we will return together and then she will see the Scranton people and I will re-enter the building.

Office Convention: Today Show

The Office Convention

Brian, Angela, and Craig with Al (note the stylish U of S scarves)

The first event of the convention, and it was cuh-razy! The Office cast was treated like ROCK STARS at the University of Scranton. I was lucky enough to enter with Brian, Angela, and Craig, and got to meet Al Roker in the backstage area.

The crowd went especially crazy for Craig, who celebrated his birthday last night with a group dinner and karaoke. Craig told me he wrote the music for the jingles from last night’s episode, ‘Local Ad,’ but not the words.

Tipsters: Denise, Lauren

A few photos after the jump. (If YOU took pictures, post a comment with a link!)
