  • Merchandise: Tallyhead ‘Abbey in PA’ reports “my friend works at Kmart in Ephrata, PA, (southeastern PA) and they have some Office items similar to the ones they had at Target. She got me a Dwight notepad with the tan background and the tasks/complaints headers for 99 cents.”
  • Upcoming events: check out the OfficeTally Calendar (click the “calendar” link in the upper right corner of this page) for this week’s live appearances by Angela Kinsey and Kate Flannery, plus TV appearances by John Krasinski!
  • Contest: the folks over at the Northern Attack fansite is holding their annual Summer Hiatus Contest. Starts tomorrow!
  • The Annex: this isn’t related to The Office in any way, but since you now have some spare time, may I recommend some other TV shows —
    1) Glee doesn’t officially air until the fall, but the fabulous pilot episode is out there (including a free iTunes download). I’ve watched it more than five times now. If you’re a Renthead, you have an inkling of my obsession with this show.
    2) Free Radio (starring Lance Krall, who played Dwight’s sensei Ira in Season 2’s ‘The Fight’) “is an original, improvised comedy show set in a fictional radio station, and celeb guests come on the show playing themselves.” It’s a hilarious trainwreck of a show! The Office’s Angela Kinsey, Melora Hardin, and Ed Helms have all appeared as guests. Season 2 just ended, but you can watch the episodes online at VH1.

The Office’s 9pm competitors next season

This is upfronts week in New York, when every major TV network announces its 2009-2010 schedule.

Today’s presenter: FOX

FOX just announced that its JJ Abrams’ science fiction thriller ‘Fringe’ will move from Tuesday nights to Thursday nights this fall.

At 9pm. Against The Office.

Here’s the confirmed list of Thursday 9pm shows for the coming season:

  • FOX: Fringe
  • ABC: Grey’s Anatomy
  • NBC: The Office
  • CBS: CSI
  • CW: Supernatural

I love Fringe, but I guess I won’t be watching it live anymore …

Got a ‘Company Picnic’ question for Jen Celotta?

I am so delighted that The Office executive producer Jen Celotta has agreed to answer your questions about last night’s season finale, ‘Company Picnic’!

Jen co-wrote the episode with executive producer Paul Lieberstein (“Toby”).

Here she is hard at work. :)

Submit your question here.

This post will close at 11pm Pacific Time tonight, so get your questions in today!

P.S. I am really looking forward to this, since I’ll probably be able to contribute to it from an extra’s perspective. :)

Happy 100th episode, The Office!

This post contains coverage of The Office’s 100th episode celebration, which took place during the filming of the Season 5 finale ‘Company Picnic’ April 13-17.

May 13, 2009

Here are a couple of articles regarding The Office’s 100th episode milestone:

April 14, 2009

There was a break in today’s on-location shooting to announce The Office’s 100th episode to the press. I got to watch the festivities. Executive producer Greg Daniels gave an enormously heartfelt speech about the show’s early struggles, and then proceeded to name a long list of people who never stopped believing in the show’s magic. I almost teared up!

There was an enormous cake to cut, after which Rainn Wilson put his entire fist into the cake and tried to shake hands with people.

Here are a few of my snapshots:

Tonight’s delicious comedy sandwich

I’ve been using the term “delicious comedy sandwich” ever since I heard Mike Schur say it in his ESPN interview. When food and comedy can come together in one tagline, I’m all for it.

Are we excited for tonight? — two new episodes of ‘The Office’ sandwiching the series premiere of ‘Parks and Recreation.’ It’s a veritable feast!

And … I’ve just been told “make sure to tune in for the very beginning of ‘The Michael Scott Paper Company’ — it’s brilliant.”

OMG I’m so excited! It all starts at 8pm!

P.S. I also just added one little picture to the Spoiler page.
