EW’s Emmy picks

The June 22nd issue of Entertainment Weekly chooses “the actors and series they’d like to see score some sweet, sweet Emmy love”:

Best Comedy: [The Office] provides loads o’belly laughs, while engaging your emotions: Michael’s unexpectedly fraught relationship with Jan? Pam’s breakthrough on the beach with fiery coals? Hot stuff.

Best Supporting Actress/Comedy: The classic comic leading ladies — from Lucille Ball to Julia Louis-Dreyfus — are brassy broads. Jenna Fischer of The Office is exploring new territory: the funnywoman as a humble, sensitive soul. Her Pam elicits laughs from delighted camera glances and low-key sarcasm, while also winning our hearts … and an Emmy?

The article includes a full-sized photo of Jenna Fischer — check it out after the jump!

Welcome home, Jenna!

Jenna Fischer has finally returned home to California after spending nearly three weeks in New York following her accident.

James Gunn, Jenna’s husband, writes in his MySpace blog:

Jenna is much better. There’s marked improvement every few days. She’s walking around fairly normally, and she can get in and out of bed on her own.

In honor of Jenna’s return home, here’s a little extra Rewind this week — a listing of tidbits you may have missed the first time around:

  • The Girl’s Guide to Summer (2003): Jenna Fischer appeared in this video entry for the Instant Films Festival in 2003.
    Video | Behind the scenes
  • Nonhuman Resources (2004, NSFW): Jenna stars as an adorable witch.

  • 10 Things You Don’t Know About Women (2006, NSFW): Jenna penned this article for Esquire magazine, which was then turned into a video starring many of The Office staff.

And a few bits of new news:

  • Cupcake Courier hits the big time! One of Jenna’s favorite products (and created by her cousin-in-law) is featured in the Summer issue of O at Home magazine, pages 11 and 26!

  • Rover Rescue: Jenna’s fans have now donated more than $2,100 in her honor to Rover Rescue. One fan even sponsored a dog (Gretel) as a get well gift!

Update on Jenna

From USA Today:

She has received well-wishes from all her Office co-stars. Steve Carell (Michael) sent flowers with a funny note. John Krasinski (Jim) wrote a “lovely e-mail.” Rainn Wilson (Dwight) placed a call to her room. But it was an NBC doc who really impressed her. “Zach Braff (Scrubs) was at the party when I fell. And bless his heart, the next day he sent a big tray of cupcakes to my hotel. In those first few days, all my husband and I did for pleasure was watch a Larry Sanders DVD and eat those cupcakes.”

Get better soon, Jenna!

Rover Rescue update

After her accident in New York last week, Jenna asked fans, in lieu of “get well” gifts, to instead make a donation to Rover Rescue, an organization “dedicated to the rescue and placement of homeless dogs from Los Angeles animal shelters.”

Rover Rescue’s Cathy Rubin says that donations made in Jenna’s name now total over $1,700!

She adds:

Thanks for your posting on officetally.com in regards to the donations going to Rover Rescue. The response has been amazing. Jenna is so loved by people. It must make her feel really good. And it makes a lot of homeless dogs happy too.

Nicely done, Office (and Jenna) fans. :)

Jenna thanks fans

From People Magazine:

“I am very touched by the outpouring of support from my fans,” Fischer, 33, tells PEOPLE. “My friends and family and everyone at NBC are taking very good care of me. I’m on the mend. I couldn’t dream of a better network of support.”

If you’d like to send Jenna a gift, please donate to Rover Rescue in Jenna’s name. Linda over at JGAS says, “I thought I would let you know how much the donations to Rover Rescue have raised at this point — $757.00! Please thank everybody who has contributed in Jenna’s name, the generosity has been wonderful!”
