We move to Thursday!
This is a very exciting week in Officeland. We move to NBC’s Thursday night line-up starting this Thursday January 5th. (Same time – 9:30pm/8:30pm Central) As far as the history of television goes, this is a HUGE accomplishment. Some of the greatest TV shows of all time have been a part of NBC’s “Must See TV” Thursday nights. We are giddy with excitement over here.
To kick it off we offer: Booze Cruise. Michael takes us all on a motivational harbor cruise. In January. In Pennsylvania. He pretends it is a leadership seminar but it is really a Booze Cruise. Amy Adams is back as Katy the Purse Girl. Jim, Pam, Roy and Katy share a booth on the ship. Jim has some realizations. But that’s all I’ll say. I haven’t seen this whole episode but I’ve seen some clips. I laughed hard. And, I also cried. I think this is going to be a classic episode. And again…partial nudity.
We shot this episode on a real boat in the Long Beach harbor. We had grand ideas of slumber parties and poker games at the hotel but our shooting schedule was so intense we crashed each night. Rainn Wilson got really sick the 2nd night. He was throwing up a lot off the side of the boat. We think he just had a cold but coupled with the rocky boat it made him sicker. We had a lot of people get sick on this trip actually. David Denman (Roy) and I didn’t feel so great the last night. We took seasickness pills and wore wrist bands to cut down on nausea but nothing was worked. The real captain of the boat rubbed some magic oil behind our ears and we were fine about 10 minutes later. It was cool.
This episode is directed by Ken Kwapis. He was our very first director on the show and we love him. He also directed Diversity Day, Sexual Harassment and The Fire.
I understand there are a lot of new Office Myspace pages popping up. If you want to know which ones are operated by real cast members…I have them in my Top 8. They are: B.J., Angela, Toby (Paul), Meredith and Kevin. I think Oscar is going to start one after the break. John, Rainn and Steve do not have pages of their own. But fans have started some as Jim, Dwight and Michael Scott and they are pretty cool. Also in my Top 8 are two people who work on our show: Bealsebub (Dan) is one of our P.A.s and Jason is our writers’ assistant. Dolly is our biggest fan.
Here is a list of upcoming appearances by Officefolk:
Wednesday January 4th – Rerun of John Krasinski on Carson Daly. For anyone who doubted that I do this page myself, John says it on Carson. And, he’s really adorable.
Thursday January 5th – Steve Carell on Ellen
Friday January 6th – Me on Tony Danza. I’m SO nervous! I’m going to shop for something to wear.
That’s all for now. Hope you like Booze Cruise. Happy New Year!

Hello MySpacers!
We just finished an AMAZING episode that airs January 5th called Booze Cruise. Michael makes us all go on a “motivational” harbor cruise that is really a booze cruise. We spent 3 nights filming on a boat in Long Beach. On one day we worked from 3:30pm – 7am. It was like a big slumber party on the boat. We played Gin Rummy, told stories, and David Denman (Roy) got everyone to pose for silly digital pictures. (God, I hope those don’t end up anywhere.) You get loopy at 4am.
Now we are all on a 2 week break. Angela, Brian and I kicked off the break by getting drinks at The Grove. Our waiter was very excited to find out that we are all really friends in real life. John was on Carson Daly earlier this week. He’s ADORABLE! They are re-running it sometime on January 3rd.
I am doing The Tony Danza Show on January 5th (but I think it actually airs on January 6th.) This will be my first TV talk show appearance and I’m VERY nervous. So, be kind when watching please.
I will be sure to post again before our move to Thursdays. Side note: It is very surreal to see your face on the side of a bus.
Happy Holidays!
P.S. Angela got us the coolest presents for Christmas. She got us shirts that say “A real man makes his own luck” – Billy Zane, Titanic
I’ve worn mine 3 days in a row!

It’s Christmastime at Dunder-Mifflin this week! Fun things about this episode:
- Snow! We have snow falling outside the office windows this week. Our Art Department Rules! When we go to our cars at the end of the night, the parking lot is covered in snow. Some interesting things about fake snow: the snow that falls outside the windows is different from the kind you use for ground cover. The stuff that they use for ground cover is cold to the touch so it’s very surreal. We even had a “snowball” fight.
- Phyllis has a boyfriend! On our set we have a fake 2nd business by the elevator. It is named Vance Refrigeration. Phyllis is dating Bob Vance!
- Todd Packer returns! He crashes our Christmas party wearing mistletoe on his belt. Yuck!
- We shot the party part of this episode over 3 days. The bowl of egg nog sat out for 12 hours a day…it was SO DISGUSTING by the last day. At night they would cover it and put it in the fridge but it was pretty gross otherwise. The cookies and pigs in a blanket all got really hard and stale. It was funny. If you see people eating a lot of pretzels that’s why.
- The actor who plays Roy is actually a REALLY cool guy. I love when he is on set. We gab the whole time. He’s a very interesting, classically trained, actor from New York. I had the best time hanging out with him and the actor who plays Darryl. We had to be careful to tone ourselves down when the cameras started rolling.
- My favorite scene of the week was the one where Angela and I are trying to put a tablecloth on the table in the conference room. She is being all controlling and Pam is passive-aggressive. It totally reminded me of when I used to work in an office. It was very subtle and mostly done with facial expressions. It probably didn’t make the final cut but it was a blast to shoot.
- This episode features partial nudity. That’s all I’m going to say.
Happy Holidays!
Stuff magazine’s December 2005 issue features a rather edgy fashion spread of The Office’s Fab Five.

Sorry this blog is past due. I’m enjoying my Thanksgiving holiday in Hawaii. I’m in the “Business Center” of my hotel typing my little blog about this week’s episode of The Office – “Email Surveillance.” I am doing this, in part, because it is raining and also because I loved this episode so much. (I guess I say that every week.) This week I thought we had a very cringy but also VERY romantic episode. Did everyone like the secret office romance!? I’ve been DYING to tell people about it. I’m so glad the secret is out. I love that none of the characters on the show know about the romance. It is a secret between the documentary crew and the audience. Look for little hints of the continued romance in upcoming episodes. Here are some fun facts about this episode:
- At the beginning of this work week it rained for 3 days. Heavy ran. Our one A.D., Richard, had to stand out in the rain the whole 3 days. He’s in charge of base camp which is where our dressing room trailers and makeup trailers are. This is usually a pretty cool place to hang – nice LA weather, sunny. But not this week. We were each given an umbrella with our names on it so we wouldn’t get too wet walking back and forth. Richard wore a parka but still got drenched.
- John and I had a MAJOR laughing fit during the lunch scene. Steve comes into the kitchen to try and show us that he’s just one of the gang and thus worthy of coming to Jim’s BBQ. John and I could not control ourselves. At one point I snorted yogurt into my nose and John was crying. It was a mess. We could barely hold it together. I don’t think we ever got through an entire take without laughing. I can’t believe they were able to cut this scene together.
- John’s birthday fell during this week of filming. He turned 26! The internet says he’s 27 but he’s not. He’s 26. We were shooting last year during his birthday too so I know for sure.
- We went on location and shot in a real neighborhood. It was an adorable gated community in northern California.
- Our usual work hours are 6am-6pm. We had to shoot some outdoor stuff at night so our hours were a little screwy. Most of us go to bed around 9-10pm so after shooting until about midnight one night, Steve ordered pizza for all the cast and crew. Nice guy huh?
- We meet some new characters this week! Jim’s roommate and his roommate’s girlfriend. We also meet the Tech guy in the office. These guys were all really awesome.
- By far and away the greatest moment of this episode is when Phyllis does karaoke. We were all laughing really hard when she had to do this.
I am being charged by the minute to use this computer $.85 per minute to be exact so I don’t have time to answer Frequently Asked Questions this week. I’m also behind on my Friend Requests so please forgive me. Now, I have to go to the pool and gawk at Mischa Barton. She’s staying here too. And, she is seriously crazy beautiful. It’s depressing.
Look for Rainn Wilson on tonight’s episode of Conan O’Brien… Wednesday the 23rd that is.
