Webisodes nominated for Daytime Emmy

Last summer’s Office webisodes, The Accountants, have been nominated for a 2007 Daytime Emmy award in the brand new category of Outstanding Broadband Program — Comedy:

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences today announced the nominees for four new Emmy Awards for original entertainment programming — comedy, drama, children’s and variety created specifically for broadband, including computers, mobile phones, PDAs and similar devices.

The broadband awards will be presented June 14 in Los Angeles.

The Office wins three Webby Awards

The Office has won the following three Webby Awards:

  • Best TV website, People’s Voice Winner: The Office website
  • Best comedy short, Webby Award Winner: The Office webisodes
  • Best comedy short, People’s Voice Winner: The Office webisodes

The Office wins Peabody Award

The Office has won the prestigious Peabody Award — “This American adaptation of the Peabody-winning British hit of the same title — a comedy of workplace manners and politics presented in faux documentary form — has firmly established its own precise voice and studied brilliance.”

About the Peabody Award:

The awards recognize distinguished achievement and meritorious service by radio and television networks, stations, producing organizations, cable television organizations and individuals … Today the George Foster Peabody Awards are often cited as the most prestigious awards in electronic media.

Office receives PRISM Award noms

The Office has received two PRISM Award nominations:

  • TV Comedy Series Episode: The Office — “Drug Testing”
  • Performance in a Comedy Series: Steve Carell, The Office

From the press release:

The PRISM Awards are for productions and performances featuring the accurate depiction of drug, alcohol and tobacco use and addiction, as well as mental health … Recipients will be announced at a ceremony to be held at the Beverly Hills Hotel on April 24th and which will air in November on the FX Network.
