Mindy Kaling returning to The Office Season 9

Vulture reports that Mindy Kaling will return for The Office Season 9:

… Kaling and the producers of The Office have worked out a deal for the actress to return to the NBC comedy for at least two episodes of the show’s ninth season.

The Wrap reports more details:

“I think I’m going to be in the premiere, and maybe another episode,” [Mindy] said. “I got attached to that character. It’s fun to see what’s going to happen to Kelly.”

The overlap between “The Office” and “The Mindy Project” doesn’t end there: “Office” star Ed Helms will also appear on the new show’s premiere. And “Office” co-creator Greg Daniels will direct an episode of “The Mindy Project.”

Brian Baumgartner’s ‘Training for Tahoe’

The Office’s Brian Baumgartner (“Kevin”) is hosting/executive producing his third annual special for NBC Sports called “Training For Tahoe,” which airs tomorrow, Saturday, July 21st at 11am PT.

“Training for Tahoe” pairs Brian with superstar athletes like Aaron Rodgers, Michael Strahan and Justin Tuck as they push his physical and mental limits leading up the annual NBC Sports American Century Celebrity Golf Championship in Tahoe.

TV Guide reports B.J. Novak no longer full-time on The Office

From TV Guide:

B.J. Novak, who has doubled as a writer off-screen and a series regular on-screen since The Office’s 2005 launch, is leaving as a full-time part of the show.

Novak will remain a member of the extended Office family, however. Even though he no longer has a deal in place with series producer Universal TV, Novak is expected to make recurring appearances on The Office and could even still do some writing for the show.

… executive producer Greg Daniels… is returning full time to oversee the show’s creative evolution this season.
