Dwight Schrute: Twelve Songs that Inspire and Motivate Me
“Wild Side” (Track 1): “This is my favorite song ever. There is a lot of me in this song — literally. You cannot spell ‘Schrute’ without C-R-U-E.”
“Everybody Hurts” (Track 2): “I don’t care for most ‘indie rock,’ but this song is very emotional and pretty. I listen to it when I am feeling ignored by people I love.”
“The Star Spangled Banner” (Track 3): “No explanation necessary.”
“All Out of Love” (Track 4): “I play this when I need to get really amped up for some lovin’ or some intimacy. This song makes women’s knees all wobbly. Trust me.”
“More Than a Feeling” (Track 5): “Sometimes you feel things and you’re like, “Whoa, that’s a feeling,’ but it’s also so much more. What is it exactly? What is this thing that is a feeling but is so much more? This song attempts to answer this very human and eternal question. Plus, the guitar is awesome.”
“Tom Sawyer” (Track 6): “‘What you say about his company is what you say about society.’ It’s like it’s describing me. Pure poetry.”
“Orinoco Flow” (Track 7): “‘Sail away, sail away, sail away.’ Sometimes I’d like to do just that. Especially if I could sail away with this lovely Celtic songstress. This song is very relaxing — perfect after a long day of farming beets or selling paper, which coincidentally are the two things I do.”
“Battlestar Galactica” (Track 8): “This version is not quite as driving and inspiring as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra version, but I find it more beautiful. It’s a matter of taste.”
“Iron Man (Live)” (Track 9): “Hello, Universe? Thank you for allowing Black Sabbath to invent this song. It is the best song ever. Sincerely, Dwight Schrute.”
“Some Gave All” (Track 10): “A singer, an American. A simple country doctor on the PAX network. Billy Ray Cyrus will always be cool in my book.”
“Mother” (Track 11): “So good. I sang this karaoke-style for my mother when she turned 50. She got very emotional and had to leave the room.”
Dwight is god!!!!!!!!!!!
