P.S. And if you missed it the first time around, here is lemoñadé’s fan report — she was an extra and stand-in for Maya Rudolph!
This looks so good!! I think I’ll really like John and Maya together.
OH my gosh!!! that looks amazing!!!! this could be VERY big for our boy John!!!
Aww wow that looks like it’s gonna be SO good. And they used Alexi Murdoch’s song “All My Days” in the trailer…great song! Yay, I’m very excited for John! :)
Looks pretty good! Can’t wait! I agree with Lara, could be big for John.
I’m excited, it looks like John is actually going to have a good movie on his hands.
This looks pretty good. I like the direction that he is going for with this film. I hope he can pull off a movie career because not only is he easy on the eyes, but, more importantly he is very talented.
Ooooh opens day after my birthday! Must go see!
Oh wow! This looks so great!!!
This movie looks GREAT! John and Maya seem to have good chemistry together.
I hope it comes to our local oneplex theater.
Wow! I am speechless – this movie is going to be fantastic, very different from what I was expecting after first hearing of it… I want to go see this movie, but not because JK is in it like I thought I would – this just looks like a fantastic film!
Many thanks for posting this trailer which I have now watched an embarrassing number of times. I love Dave Eggers’ writing and Sam Mendes’ films, and I am so excited as this looks awesome! Allison Janney was cracking me up to no end. This film seems so sweet and so relatable, and I agree that John and Maya have really good chemistry.
Can’t wait to see this – it looks great! And of course I’ll think its the best because John is in it too. :)
I was thrilled when John got the part – especially since I knew he was in good hands with Sam Mendes directing. Can’t wait to see this in theaters. Looks like a wonderful cast – and yay for Lemonade! Great to read the story again :)
I don’t know, guys. I mean, this movie looks good, but it’s not going to top License to Wed.
Just kidding, that movie sucked. I had my doubts about Maya and John together as a couple, but from this preview, they seem so great. I cannot wait to see this!
Gosh, Focus Features puts out the best little movies that I ALWAYS end up loving. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, anyone? Winter Passing? This one’s gonna be good. I just know it.
I’m so excited about this! Allison Janney and Maggie Gyllenhaal are two of my favorite actresses and this looks like a breakthrough role for John Krasinski.
Oh, and I agree that he seems to have GREAT chemistry with Maya Rudolph.
I love when the Office cast members choose these awesome quirky roles!
I can NOT wait for this movie to come out!! John and Maya look great together, and the whole cast is awesome – this is going to be amazing!
It looks great! I’m loving John with the beard, too :)
that film looks brilliant, and I cannot wait to see it. It will show John off as a versatile actor, and great chemistry with just about anyone. It will be surprising to see Maya Rudolph handle the role as well after her work on SNL. I love indies like this way more than the commercial releases, so this will be great.
Sam Mendes, (a bearded) John Krasinski, and Focus Features…it’s a match made in heaven.
Ooh this looks excellent!
This movie looks completely adorable and funny. I absolutely cannot wait.
This looks really good. I hope it does well for John. The Office won’t last forever and I just don’t know how I’m going to handle not having my weekly dose of JK.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I can’t wait to see this. From the clip it looks like a great movie, and a brilliant performance from John!
WOW. this looks like such an amazing movie. i never pictured john in a serious role, but it looks like he really came through. plus, that beard is so sexy!
OMG! John looks so hot in a full beard. This movie looks so amazing. I can’t wait to see it!
Great-looking trailer! It has a Juno-esque quality and looks really funny. Kudos to John!
John looks great with facial hair! The trailer to “Away We Go” was wonderful and I can’t wait for the movie. It’ll be interesting to see John in a more serious role; from what I’ve seen in the trailer, he pulled it off very well.
John Krasinski looks MAD HOT in this movie
How does the “starring” list not include Jim Gaffigan? I was SO excited to see him!
Wow! For some reason when I read the synopsis, I expected a License to Wed-esque main-stream comedy. This is sooo different than what I expected! But it still looks great!! Can’t wait!
This looks great. I didn’t even recognize John at first with all the beardness happening!
I was totally not expecting that from the synopsis. But with Sam Mendes, I should have known…I can’t wait to see it!
I’m really looking forward to this movie. Fantastic cast, great writer and director, there’s a lot to like here. I was going to ask what the song was, but I see that Stacey already answered that in #3. Thanks!
I *LOVE* so much about what this movie chooses to be. This trailer has me ridiculously excited. FINALLY I can look forward to a JKras movie that won’t just be for eye candy!
Has anyone mentioned that this film was written by Dave Eggers, one of the most wonderfully creative, unique authors around. It’s his first film he’s written, which was the whole reason I was excited for this to begin with – the fact that we get Sam Mendes, John Krasinski, Jim Gaffigan, Maya Rudolph are all just huge, wonderful, amazing bonuses.
Wow – this looks great. Kinda Wes Anderson-y. Digging the music too. Anyone else think Maggie Gyllenhal has the BEST line in that trailer? ‘I love my baby…why would I want to PUSH him away from me?!’ Hilarious!!!
Sam Mendes?!?!?!?!? JKras totally scored with that role. I am STOKED!!!
Wow- when I read who else would be in this movie.. I wasn’t sure about the pairing of Maya and John, but after watching the preview I can’t wait to see it! I have a feeling by just watching the preview that this is going to be a hit… this is going to be great for John’s career. I love his mountain man look by the way. He’s hot in the office, but this side of him… yummy.
June 5th! that’s my birthday! it’s like fate… :)
I find the hand written looking titles and acoustic guitar to be a little cliche and I don’t really see how it relates to the film. But John looks like he does a good job as well as the rest of the cast.
I think this looks amazing. It’ll be fun to see Jim play a completely different role. I feel like in his past roles he’s been very Jim-like. Although I love Jim, this will be a fun change. And Maggie Gyllenhaal! She’s my favorite. I think this movie was made for me. :)
I mean John, not Jim. Sigh. I shouldn’t be allowed to comment on here during finals week.
Well, I just purchased my tickets. My heart is pounding so hard!
I’m excited!!!
I’m going to the 826 screening in San Francisco this Friday. Tanster, you should go!
I was told John would be at a screening for the 826 group here in Boston, but I can’t seem to find any info. The movie looks great.
man i wish i was in LA !!!
Damn. If only this wasn’t scheduled during finals week then I would get my ticket and go!
Oh, I so wish I had the money to buy a ticket or two…
I would so pay $150 to go to this. If only I wasn’t 3500 miles away…
Oh, I wish I could go. Damn, you, classes!
Nice. I wish I could make it to this screening and panel.
Why do I live in stupid Quebec, Canada?
I would so pay 150$ to go!
i can’t wait for this, been holding my breath since september. i love maya rudolph and allison janney!
Oh, how I’d love to go. Michigan isn’t that far away, right? (:
Has anybody heard anything about John possibly attending the NY screening??
He was at the screening in San Francisco tonight! He wasn’t on the list, but Dave Eggers announced who would be on the Q&A panel beforehand and he said John’s name! Someone was escorting him out afterward and he looked to be in a hurry, but I was able to shake his hand and say hello. What a night!
I was also at the San Francisco screening last night and much to my surprise JK was there (he wasn’t originally slated to come…twss!) Anyway, the movie was great, highly recommended. JK was so good and believable as Burt that I wasn’t thinking the whole time “why does Jim have a beard and where is Pam?” The panel discussion was thrilling as well. To have that caliber of artists sitting 10 feet in front of you talking about why they did the things they did was simply amazing.
I’m so happy that I got to see this in Seattle–it was shown for an 826 benefit. Loved it! Dave Eggers and Vendela Vita answered questions at the screening. They talked about how they had John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph in mind when they were writing this, and they loved the way John and Maya so perfectly brought the characters Burt and Verona to life. This movie was so warm and funny and poignant–it was really worth seeing!
Just saw the clip of him on Good Morning America!
Excuse me…
SQUEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My wife and I are expecting our first child and will be interesting to see this movie. Hopefully, this will be a hit for John.
I’m really looking forward to seeing this movie…loved him on GMA.
John is always a charming interviewee. So grateful and humble about his success. I can’t wait until “Away We Go” hits our theater in Minneapolis!
I can’t even put into words how adorable he is…I can’t wait to see the movie!
I am still drooling over J kras’ immense hotness in the Good Morning America interview. If he wore clothes that form fitting all the time on TO I’m pretty sure I’d never be able to get through an episode without passing out from earth shattering hormonal levels.
John was handsome and humble as usual. I am extremely upset that this movie is not being shown anywhere near me at all.
The movie got a glowing review in this month’s Rolling Stone, which features the film in its Hot List, along with Ed Helms’s movie The Hangover and Mindy Kaling as a hot comedy writer! Office folks are takin’ over the world!
John is awesome! I can’t wait for the movie. I hope it opens wide and is huge for him and Maya.

Thank you, sorano916. :)
That was a fantastic radio interview. Such insightful questions, and John was so articulate and composed in his answers.
Anyone know when it’s going to get released in Canada?….or where?! Loved the interviews though, hopefully this does as well as it should!!
LOVED the film. Awesome performances, great characters, excellent pace. I think it will be one of the greatest movies of the year for sure. Extremely memorable, definitely worth seeing multiple times. Congrats John, you done good.
On Letterman last night he said he got a puppy! I wanna seeee. Because John by himself is adorable but John + puppy = cute overload.
Thanks sorano916!!! I was wondering why it would come to my town :)
Meanwhile – last night’s Letterman was adorably charming. His impression of his puppy going limp with the horse was hilarious. I love it :) (and yes I was like what’s the dog’s name?! I hope I wasn’t alone)
John’s appearance on Letterman was one of his best. It’s cool to see him remain “normal” as each additional appearance shows him becoming a bigger and bigger star.
His impression of his dog around the horse had my dying; it was so spot-on funny and kinda reminded me of Jim’s reaction to the camera after his first Stamford prank on Andy.
I want to know what he named his puppy…I bet he’s just as cute as J-Kras himself….It would be funny if he named the dog Halpert!
I am SO upset this isn’t playing near me. I’ve read several really good reviews. Way to go, John!
For those in the Philly area, the United Artists theater in Manayunk is having a free preview showing tomorrow (Tuesday) night, June 9th at 7:30. I cannot attend but I saw free passes at Main St. Music in Manayunk (they’re little fliers at the register). I don’t know if you get passes at the theater or at other stores in the area, but I suspect that you can only get in if you have the passes. The theater’s at 3720 Main St.
If you go, have fun!
Just saw it this weekend in Chicago. I really enjoyed the movie, even though I thought it fared better as a drama than a comedy. There were definitely funny moments, but I found more of it to be touching than classically “funny”. It was very well done, and the chemistry between John and Maya is just wonderful.
If you happen to live in a city that is playing the movie, it’s definitely worth more than the price of admission.
Saw the movie yesterday, and John was SO good in it. It was worth it just to see him.
I was fortunate enough to be in LA on vacation at the time the movie was released! Really enjoyed the movie and John was great. Hopefully it will be more widely released SOON.
FatJimHalpert: The movie has been released in Toronto (only in two theaters). It’s wonderful. I laughed, I cried, I fell even more in love with John Krasinski.
77 Mindy, I read the dog’s name is Finn.
I hope that June 26th will be the biggest expansion for AWG. The closest place it’s showing to me is still 8 hours away… And, by the way – his dog’s name is Finn – I’m assuming for Huckleberry Finn – cuz in one of the interviews, he mentions he went through a lot of literary figures before picking it.
I’ve seen the movie so came back and listened to this. Great, great interview. Very interesting hearing Sam Mendes talk about JK from Jarhead.
FINALLY got to see Away We Go…I found a theater about 10 miles away that it was playing at and so I took myself there today to see it since I didn’t have to work. It was such a good/sweet film!
Oh, how I loved this movie! It was touching and the characters were believable.John and Maya were simply excellent
I just wanted to show a Rotten Tomatoes review of the movie!
One of the hosts does an great Jim-face.
