DVD Synopsis
Oscar® winners George Clooney and Renée Zellweger match wits in Leatherheads, a rapid-fire sports comedy. Clooney plays Dodge Connolly, a swaggering, aging football hero who is determined to guide his team from bar brawls to packed stadiums. But after the players lose their sponsor and the entire league faces certain collapse, Dodge convinces a college football star to join his ragtag ranks. Welcome to the team Carter Rutherford (John Krasinski), a golden-boy war hero, with dashing good looks and unparalleled speed on the field. But if Dodge thinks this new champ is too good to be true, then Lexie Littleton (Zellweger) can prove that’s the case. A cub journalist playing in the big leagues, Lexie is a spitfire newswoman who sniffs holes in Carter’s war story. While she digs, however, the two teammates become off-field rivals for attention. As the hilarious rivalry grows, Dodge fights to get the girl while he tries to keep his guys together. One thing is certain for Connelly … he knows that you always keep one final play from the defense.

Jim would like this movie because his secret dream is to be a sports writer.
Jim Halpert would love Leatherheads. Who knows more about fighting for the woman you love than Jim?…nobody!
Yes because Jim really likes sports and has a great sense of humor.
Jim would love the movie Leatherheads, because it’s a great movie to take your girlfriend(Fiance’?) to.
I think Jim Halpert would like Leatherheads for the following reasons:
-he is a sports fan. (remember “Philly Jim”?)
-it is a comedy, and we all know that Jim likes funny.
-George Clooney is in the movie, therefore this is a movie that Pam would surely like to watch with Jim. (What woman does not love George Clooney?)
Yes, Jim would enjoy Leatherheads if he’s looking for a decent Clooney flick to sit back and laugh with.
Jim would like this movie, because he’d wish could have dashing good looks and unparalleled speed on the field.
Sports, love, and rivalry for that love: Epitomizes Jim. Plus, it’s a flick Pam would enjoy and that Dwight wouldn’t.
Jim Halpert would like Leatherheads because the actor playing Carter has a striking resemblance to himself and because he loves sports and comedy.
Jim would love Leatherheads because he could use it to show off his impression skills to Pam.
Jim Halpert would love Leatherheads because Pam would keep telling him, “That tall, hot guy Krasinski looks JUST like you!”
Jim would like Leatherheads because of the sports but wouldn’t because of George Clooney. He would go for Pam, maybe.
Jim would love Leatherheads, becuase 1.) it’s about sports and 2.) the bountiful opportunities to mock Zellweger’s acting with Pam.
I think Jim would enjoy Leatherheads. He knows what it’s like to fight for the girl you love, so he could relate. And Jim is the king of pranks so a comedy is right up his alley.
Jim would like Leatherheads because he could show Pam how to throw a football and not hit Meredith.
Jim would like the witty “rapid-fire” charm, the hero’s tale and the departure from the norm that is Leatherheads.
Two words: sports comedy! Plus, Jim’s a romantic (Goodbye Toby). However, Jim’s not necessarily a fan of Zellweger (Benihana Chrismas)!
Jim Halpert would enjoy Leatherheads because Jim is openminded on films, whether it be a comedy with George Clooney, a nervous romance with Woody Allen (Annie Hall), a horror thriller film with Jack Nicholson (The Shining) or a mellow dramatic romance (Say Anything).
Another Renee Zellwiger flick? He would love it as long as it promises to be as good as Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.
Jim would love this movie because Pam would rent Pinhead (Hellraiser) by accident and scare herself waiting for George Clooney to show up.
Jim Halpert would LOVE the movie, but especially the bonus features. GEORGE CLOONEY: A LEATHERHEADS PRANKSTER? Perfect for research.
Jim would not like this movie because Zellweger portrays the sports writer. He hated Bridget Jones (A Benihana Christmas).
Yes. Jim would like the movie. First, Jim has that type of humor and would be a Clooney fan. Second I could see him making a romantic evening with Pam eating Chinese food and watching a movie that Pam would also like because she would think Clooney and that “other guy” were cute!
Jim would like Leatherheads because as we saw in his ‘second life’ avatar… he secretly wants to be a Philadelphia sports writer (that and play guitar)! :)
Jim would like Leatherheads- but be confused as to why he looks so much like the actor in the movie!
The only reason Jim would watch “Leatherheads” is so that he could understand, and then ridicule, Michael’s references to it.
Yes, just because I think he would like to mock it (like Birdget Jones’s Diary)
Jim would be too uncomfortable with the love-triangle between the leads to enjoy Leatherheads. He’s had enough love-triangle for a lifetime.
Jim would like this movie … he can watch this romantic comedy with someone special. Also it is about football and like the pranks he engineers against Dwight, these tactics can be used on the football field as well.
I think Jim would like Leatherheads- Sports, comedy, and a love triangle- its right up his ally!
I don’t know … I think the love triangle thing might bring back bad memories of Jim-Karen-Pam or Jim-Pam-Roy. Plus, he’s got to dislike Renee Zellweger due to Bridget Jones’ Diary. And, to top it off, this seems like the kind of movie that Andy or Michael would get super excited about. Because of that, Jim would probably dislike it on principle.
Jim and Pam would watch together, playfully arguing which one represents Jim and which one is Roy.
Jim’s a guy with many interests and this is a DVD that hits everything. Sports, romance, and comedy sounds perfect!
Jim would like a romantic comedy where Pam and he could add their own commentary even with football and Rene.
Yes – sounds like the perfect movie Pam and him could snuggle up to together after a long day with Michael.
I think Jim would like the movie because he wants to be a sportscaster, and because he looks like one of the characters.
yes, Jim would like leatherheads because he likes football, and pam would join him to watch George Clooney. It would be a great date movie.
Jim: “OK, Whoa, all right ’cause that’s a pretty intense accusation.” actually I have feelings for George. (
It’s the perfect date night movie, with an uncanny resemblance to the love of Pam’s life. What’s not to love?
Jim is not a fan of romantic comedies. Remember Desert Island? He’d make fun of it.
I’m not sure. The lead actor keeps looking at the camera and going like this…(makes a face) What’s that about?
Fact: Yes. Reason: The Dodge/Carter rivalry reminds him of his and a very cool and attractive Dwight’s rivalry.
I think Jim would originally agree to watch it b/c it’s about football, but then actually like it since George Clooney is a prankster in real life (you have to watch a movie which has your favorite celeb in it!) and b/c the other lead actor looks like him so it’s okay if Pam crushes.
He would tell Pam he did. He would tell us he didn’t.
Jim would like Leatherheads because it’s not a “Great Scott!” Production.
Jim would suggest this movie for the next ‘Movie Monday,’ considering Varsity Blues was a big hit.
I think Jim would enjoy Leatherheads. He has Dazed and Confused in his top five Desert Island Movies, which shows he would enjoy the comedy of Leatherheads.
Yes. Love triangle. Drama. All worked out in the end, though. The hero got the girl. Who saw that coming?
Jim’s review: Thumbs up to football movies. Thumbs down to Michael thinking he’s George Clooney and throwing footballs at us.
Jim likes fantasy football, as he stated when he accidentally called Pam. So he’d like Leatherheads because it’s about football.
Jim would love to watch it as a double feature with Bridget Jones Diary 2: The Edge of Reason!! A Renee Zellweger Movie Marathon:)
Funny: check. Romantic: check. Sports: check. Yep, Jim would like it.
Jim would enjoy Leatherheads since he’s a sports fan and has a secret man-crush on George Clooney.
Either way, he would tell Pam that he could kick George Clooney’s a** in one-on-one basketball.
I think Jim would totally make fun of this movie, but secretly like it.
Jim would watch the movie to make Pam happy. He would laugh a little, but not truly enjoy it.
Jim would love Leatherheads. As golden-boy of the office and the victor of Pam, it’s semi-autobiographical!
Jim likes it. He can relate to Carter, there’s sports, and he could tease when Pam says, “George Clooney’s cute!”
Jim would like “Leatherheads” because he is in it. :)
Jim doesn’t need to watch Leatherheads. Pam just came home, so he’s got more important things to attend to.
Jim wouldn’t like Leatherheads because he has boycotted every Rene Zellweger movie ever since Bridget Jone’s Diary.
Jim wouldn’t watch it unless Pam wanted to watch it. He makes fun of romantical comedies.
Yes, absolutely. Jim likes sports, wit and knows about winning the girl!
Besides that it is a sports movie, Jim can relate to the one final play needed to win it all.
Jim would like it until Michael has the whole office day revolve around the similarities between Jim’s face and Carter’s.
Jim is torn between hating fluff romantic comedies and his secret manlove for all things Clooney. He wouldn’t pay to see it in the theaters but he’ll netflix it.
Jim would not like it because Renee would remind him of Karen and how he was scolded like a three-year old for storming Utica with two wild and crazy guys.
Jim would hate it because Michael has probably already pretended to be George in the office and tackled Jim.
Jim would like Leatherheads since he wants to be sports writer.
Jim wouldn’t like Leatherheads because he hates Renee Zellweger, as noted when Jim and Karen exchange copies of Bridget Jones’s Diary and comment on how miserable it was.
John comes in as the hero. Naturally he is going to love a movie where he is the stud.
Jim would mostly enjoy making Pam blush when he teased her about thinking that “Carter” guy was hot!
Jim would like it, he is a sports fan, a romantic, and a goraphobic. He and pam can watch it.
“Who has two thumbs and loves Leatherheads? This guy.” – Jim Halpert (Reasoning behind it: “Philly Jim”)
Jim would love Leatherheads, because Pam is really into George Clooney. He would go for her.
Jim is conflicted. He likes Clooney, and this seems like Coen-esque Screwball, but Pam’s too fond of this Krasinski upstart.
Jim is a very “sporty” guy. So yes, I believe he would enjoy it a lot.
Jim wouldn’t like Leatherheads. He’s a basketball player.
Love triangle, sports-related, and an ironic love for kitschy Renee Zellweger films: Affirmative on the Jim love.
Jim wouldn’t like Leatherheads because well, George Clooney is in it. Nothing else needs to be said. :)
Of course. After all, he stars in “‘Leatherheads’ Second Life.”
Jim would like Leatherheads, but would never buy it because it was a good movie. He’d only buy it if it was a terrible movie, and use it as a gag gift for Pam. He’d tell her that the guy on the cover looks just like him. However, he’d definitely point to George Clooney.
Jim would like it because it’s sporty for him and romantic for Pam. They could totally watch it together!
It would be one of Jim’s “Guilty pleasure” movies, but not one for a desert island.
Absolutely he would. He loves football, and it would be a guilty pleasure movie that he and Pam would love!
Jim would claim liking Leatherheads for the football, but its the special feature of Clooney’s prank that piques his interest.
As a future sports writer, Jim would love the football scenes, and would pretend to like the fluff for Pam.
While not desert island material, Leatherheads offers enough laughs and he and Pam could make out during the slow parts.
I think Jim would be bored by Leatherheads, because it depicts football as a dullish, bland sport. I don’t imagine him being a Renee Zellweger and George Clooney type of guy, and besides, he like basketball!
Jim: “Football AND the girl from Bridget Jones? Would I like the movie? **nodding his head up and down** no.”
After hearing that Pam has a tiny crush on the “Sexiest Man in America,” Jim will go to tell Pam how much cuter that “Carter Rutherford” character was :)
Jim: “The movie sounds OK, but who is John Krasinski?”
Jim would not hate Leatherheads, and would go on a Pam-pick night, because Pam has a little crush on the kid that plays Carter.
Yes, Jim would like Leatherheads as long as he was watching it while cozied up to his soulmate Pam!
Jim Halpert is sick and tired of love traingles. I doubt he’d want to see another one.
Jim would secretly like it because he thinks the Carter character looks and acts a lot like him.
Pam. Pranks. Pigskin action. Jim would love Leatherheads.
Jim would probably shake his head at the chick flick hidden under the guise of football, but would watch it just as long as he got to cuddle with Pam on the sofa!
Jim would like ‘Leatherheads’ ’cause he’s cool like that.
Jim would show disdain for the movie because of the comedy stylings. He wouldn’t like the cheesy love story.
Jim understands love triangles, sports, sports journalism, and would find Carter to be good-looking and would therefore love Leatherheads.
Jim would enjoy Leatherheads because it’s a sports movie and he can relate to the love triangle.
I think Jim would enjoy Leatherheads very much, since he is into sports. Although John Krasinski might make him jealous.
I think Jim would like Letherheads because he probably looks up to suave George Clooney and his lady snaring skills.
Jim: “Yes, I’m very passionate about Leatherheads. In fact, I think I’m in love with Leatherheads.”
Pam would be the one to rent it,and Jim would only like it after being forced to watch it.
Leatherheads is a movie Jim and Pam can share together. Jim can enjoy the sports while Pam enjoys the romance.
Would Jim love this movie? Absolutley he would.
I think he would. George’s character is very similar to Jim in regards to the fact that he’s trying to get the “already-taken” girl.
“Hey Pam, will you wait for me one second, while I add Leatherheads to my Netflix queue, just for you.”
I think that Jim would love the movie for the Sergant York play at the end. Any kind of trick that shows someone being outsmarted or faked out is right up Jim’s alley.
ICH GEBE AUF!
Jim would love Leatherheads. Pigskin, pranks, comedy, witty repartee, and a little romance with a spunky girl. Who needs more?
After “Bridget Jones 2: Edge of Reason”, Jim wouldn’t waste his money on another Zellweger bomb.
Michael: “Hypothetically, does Leatherheads sound like a movie that you would like to see with me?”
Jim: “Absolutely it does.”
Jim (talking head): “When Michael plays the hypothetical game, I always say yes..”
Michael: “Well, I finished ‘Million Dollar Baby, so I rented a copy. Think you might want to stay after work and watch it with me? C’mon…we have plenty of popcorn.”
Jim (talking head): “And I am always busy.”
Jim: “Oh…can’t. Have to… so, don’t you think Jan would want to see it? After all, it does star John Kraszinski… wasn’t that like her favorite acto-?”
Michael: “Jim, get out.”
Jim: “I’m sorry, I…”
Michael (rolls head violently): “Ohhh…no, I’m sorry. I guess I don’t want to give Jan any new ideas.”
Jim: “Any new ideas for wh-….? (pause) Jim, get out. Okay, I’m going.”
*exits office*
Crap, forgot the last line:
Jim (talking head): “Such a shame. Just so happens I love that movie. It stars my favorite actor.
So much for 20 words or less…Oh well, I had fuN!
Jim’s natural mischieviousness and optimism pair well with this quick, witty sports comedy; Jim and Pam often flirt by sparring.
Jim would like Leatherheads. He would identify with the Clooney character and always wanted to make out with Renee Zellweger.
Jim would not like Leatherheads because seeing Renee Zellweger would remind him of his terrible all-night “talks” with Karen.
Jim’s dream job is to be a sports writer, so he’d appreciate a good sports movie.
reasons he would…
3. Love Triangle (he’s familiar)
2. Philly Jim = sports writer = sports movie
1. gore-aphobic approved!
He loves movies that in any way resemble Remember the Titans.
I think Pam would like watching Leatherheads because she would think that George Clooney was charming and handsome, and regardless of whether or not Jim liked the movie, he would enjoy watching it with her.
Jim: “Michael made us watch Leatherheads yesterday. Good movie. Unfortunately, Michael’s George Clooney impressions ruined it for life.”
It turns out the only movies that Jim will watch with love interest must have Renee Zellweger in it, so he’ll love it. Plus Chris Tucker isn’t in it.
Jim would love convincing Dwight its a documentary about cyborgs with heads of leather. Dwight believes: lead cyborg resembles Jim.
Jim would like Leatherheads because it’s not Legally Blonde. He would have a good time trying to convince Dwight that Carter was his long lost alien brother.
I dont think jim would like the movie because he is more into basketball.
Jim is sporty and funny, of course he’d like it! :)
I think he would watch it because Pam thinks that Carter is cute, and he wants to make her happy.
As a die hard Eagles fan, Jim would love Leatherheads.
Watching Carter, Dodge, and Lexie would remind Jim of fighting for Pam with Roy; thus he would not like Leatherheads.
Jim would hate it because it would remind him of where he works…love triangles and a crazy manager.
“Philly Jim” would enjoy Leatherheads. He and Pam would make it an unforgettable date night movie!
Jim would like Leatherheads because it combines sports, comedy and a little romance.
Jim would not like the movie because Michael made them watch the movie 3 times during his “Movie Monday” sessions at the Office, and cracked himself up by singing in a high falsetto– “You had me at hello” everytime Rene Zelwegger came on screen.
Jim is hesitant about Leatherheads because of Renee Zellweger, but ultimately decides it’s a cozy date night with Pam.
As a sports fan and aspiring sportswriter, Jim would like “Leatherheads.” He’d appreciate the witty banter.
YES because it’s:
1.)A football movie.
2.)A screwball comedy.
3.)A chance to make fun of Renee Zellweger.
Win-win…win!
Sure, because Pam would convince him to watch it (so she can watch George Clooney).
Pam would gush over how he looks like Carter. Michael would idolize Jim for weeks.
Yes. Jim is a sports guy. The punching scene could inspire him to prank Dwight, much like slap face.
Yes, Jim would enjoy Leatherheads. Unlike Ryan, Jim doesn’t have to pretend to know the rules of football.
Jim relates to Carter in that he’s in a situation (working at Dunder Mifflin) that he can’t get out of.
“Ok, let’s see. Love Clooney, but not too excited about football. Not a big football fan. Think I’ll pass.”
“Question. What has two thumbs, loves George Clooney, Rene Zellweger and football? This guy!”
