Here’s a peek of The Office auditions held in 2003, including Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) as Jim, Seth Rogen (The 40 Year Old Virgin) as Dwight, Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family) as Kevin, John Cho (Harold & Kumar) as Jim, Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad) as Michael, and Kathryn Hahn (Crossing Jordan) as Pam.
And of course, auditions of the actual cast of The Office. That we know and love so much.
Even before he got the part, Steve Carell was full on channeling Michael Scott, defining the phrase que sera sera as “filler words.”
The full audition video is included on The Office Season 9 DVD/Blu-ray, to be released September 3, 2013.
Adam Scott would’ve made a great Jim, but I’m glad he became Ben wyatt.
I like Kathryn Hahn, but wow, she sure wouldn’t have worked as Pam.
I think Adam Scott would have been a GOOD Jim, but there is none better than John.
Wow, that’s so weird imagining those people as the office characters lol
I *love* Bob Odenkirk. I’m glad he got to be in at least one episode as a Michael character!
So we really DID almost have an Asian Jim!
(In retrospect, it would’ve been even better if they’d used John Cho for “Andy’s Ancestry”).
